Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Region VIII conducted an Agro-Technology Training for coconut farmers in Sulat, Eastern Samar on November 14, 2019.

The training highlighted three regular programs of PCA, which are: Participatory Coconut Planting Project (PCPP), Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and Coconut Fertilization Project (CFP). Each program was discussed by the respective focal person of the regional office, which was followed by a field demonstration for the coconut farmer participants.

After the field demonstration, the participants were given a chance to share their coconut farming experiences, and what they have learned from the training. One farmer-participant shared his experience with the use of salt as fertilizer for coconut trees, and shared that he observed greening of leaves, development of more flowers, and increase in nut yield.
