In connection to the 7th Kuyamis Festival celebration in Misamis Oriental, a seminar on the coconut industry's potentials and prospects was conducted on January 7, 2020 at the Farmer's Training Center in the Provincial Capitol Compound in Cagayan de Oro City.

This is in line with the efforts of the province towards developing its coconut industry. The seminar was conducted by Dr. Liberty H. Canja and Ms. Johana C. Orense who gave lectures on Coconut Based Farming System (CBFS) and Coconut Integrated Pest Management System. In addition, several farmer leaders in the province were also invited to share their success stories and strategies on coconut value-adding practices.

Aside from PCA X Regional Manager Brendan P. Trasmonte and PCDM Manuel G. Octobre, the event was also graced by Governor Yevgeny Vincente B. Emano, who gave his full support to the agriculture sector most especially to the coconut industry in the province.
The seminar is just one of the highlights of the 7th Kuyamis Festival celebration which continues from January 6 - 10, 2020.
