The 3-hectare farm under Mr. Norman Razalo of Brgy. Patriciño, Claveria, Misamis Oriental was chosen to be one of the pilot hybrid model farms to showcase the advantages and efficiency of hybrids. Planted with the cultivar Tacunan x Tagnanan (PCA 15-9), the 429 newly planted seedlings will promise high yields of more than 120 nuts per tree per year or double the current regional average of annual nut yield.

The event was attended by the PCA Region X Acting Regional Manager Manuel Octobre and Science Research Specialist I May Shell F. Tumilap of the Research Center for Hillyland Development Division of DA RFO X.

This development sets the groundwork for the plans of PCA in furthering its efforts to introduce hybrids and other high-yielding coconut varieties throughout the country, to improve coconut productivity and to meet the domestic demand for coconut hybrids.### (PCA X)
