Cotabato City, November 3 --- PCA Maguindanao led the conduct of the province’s first coconut industry stakeholders on November 3, 2020, participated by coconut farmers, processors, traders, representatives from various BARMM ministry offices in Sitio Bubong, Barangay Kalanganan II, Cotabato City.

In line with the Philippine Coconut Authority’s (PCA) efforts to revitalize the coconut industry, it has started this year series of regional and provincial coconut industry stakeholders’ fora to provide avenue for the industry stakeholders, especially our coconut farmers, to become direct and active participants in the crafting of regional and provincial coconut industry roadmaps, and to be able to dialog and discuss various issues and opportunities pertaining to the industry with PCA and among the other industry stakeholders.
Under the facilitation of discussion by PCA XIV-BARMM Regional Manager Marina Wahab and PCA Maguindanao Acting Division Chief Abduladzis A. Guiaman, the for a group discussed and identified the challenges being faced in the production, processing, and market sectors of Maguindanao’s local coconut industry.
The group also came up with the proposed solutions to the identified issues, with the objective of becoming a major contributor to attaining the regional vision of BARMM to become the halal coconut hub in the country within 10 years.
For the next conduct of fora, it was recommended that there be a separate forum for each of the sector group, which are the coconut producers, processors, and market sectors. ### (PCA XIV-BARMM)
