Lucena City, November 23 — The Department of Agriculture launched the Cash and Food Subsidy for Marginal Farmers and Fisherfolk (CFSMFF) in Tayabas City, Quezon.

The subsidy program aims to provide cash and food assistance to eligible smallholder farmers and fisherfolk affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among hundreds of farmers, an initial of 108 coconut farmers from Tayabas City and Lucban, Quezon received Php3,000 cash through MLhuillier and Php2,000 worth of food subsidy through DA-accredited suppliers.

Aside from DA-attached agencies including the Philippine Coconut Authority, the launching activity was participated by local chief executives and other key officials.

Nationwide distribution of aid for farmers and fishers will take place in the coming days.### (PCA IV)
