Coconut Researchers for the Future: Innovative and Quality Research Outputs for a Globally Competitive Coconut Industry

The Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) is pleased to announce the conduct of the National Coconut Research Congress, which will be held on August 16, 2024 in Metro Manila. This event aims to present research findings, innovations, and advancements in the coconut industry.

This event will serve as a platform for coconut scientists, researchers, academicians, professors from State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs), legislators, industry stakeholders, and coconut farmers to share knowledge, discuss challenges, and explore the potential for sustainable development in the nation’s coconut industry.

We solicit presentations and papers on the following topics related to the coconut advancements, particularly:

1. Farm Management and Crop Productivity
2. Varietal Improvement and Biotechnology
3. Product Development (Food and Non-Food)
4. Bioenergy
5. Technology Transfer and Commercialization

Researchers and authors are invited to submit abstracts not exceeding 250 words with five keywords on their original papers for an initial screening. The abstracts should encompass the study's Introduction and Importance, Methods, Results, and Discussion. Previously published papers may be submitted only for presentation during the Congress and will be excluded for publication in the PCA Research Journal.

Each author may only submit a maximum of two (2) abstracts. Co-written researches are allowed, but only one (1) authorized representative should submit the abstract.

All submissions shall also contain a statement that no copyright infringement or plagiarism has been committed.

By responding to the open call for papers and submitting an abstract and a full paper for the National Coconut Research Congress, the author agrees that their work may be included in the Proceedings and PCA Research Journal with ISSN: 3028-1393 (PRINT COPY) that may be produced stemming from the event. Notwithstanding these terms, the authors shall retain moral and economic rights over all works submitted to the symposium.

1. Deadline of Submission: July 10, 2024
2. Release of Results of Accepted Abstracts: July 1, 2024
3. Oral Presentation: August 16, 2024
4. Registration to the Conference: July 1 – July 30, 2024
5. Full Paper Submission: July 1 – August 15, 2024
6. Notice of Full Paper Acceptance – September 15, 2024

The submission deadline is July 10, 2024. After this date, the submission form will be closed. Please await feedback from the Secretariat. Announcement of accepted abstracts will be on July 1, 2024.
