QUEZON CITY – A vibrant celebration marked the Philippine Coconut Authority's (PCA) 2024 Year-End Employee Appreciation and Accomplishments Presentation Day on December 17, 2024, at the Central Office. The event, themed with nostalgia and camaraderie, served as a fitting culmination of the Authority’s milestone-filled year while setting a determined vision for 2025 and beyond.

The event began with a solemn Thanksgiving Mass, setting the tone of gratitude and reflection for the afternoon. PCA Administrator and CEO, Dr. Dexter R. Buted delivered an keynote address that inspired the audience to take pride in the Authority’s accomplishments while looking forward to exciting opportunities for 2025 and beyond. “We are not just colleagues; we are one PCA family united in purpose, heart, and vision,” he proclaimed. He also outlined the global coconut industry's trends and challenges and shared PCA's strategic plans for modernization and sustainability through its five-year strategic development plan.

Key initiatives included the Massive Planting and Replanting Program to address senile palms, the development of hybrid and climate-resilient coconut varieties, and strengthened partnerships with local and international organizations. Underlining PCA's focus on farmer empowerment, the PCA chief detailed programs like mobile health services, access to credit, and training to professionalize coconut farming.

The PCA 2024 Accomplishments Presentation provided an overview of the agency's milestones, showcasing successes across its offices, including the Office of the Administrator, Program Management Office, Operations Branch, Administration and Finance Branch, and Research and Development Branch. A highlight of the event was the awarding of PCA’s ISO 9001:2015 Certification, symbolizing its dedication to quality management systems and operational excellence. Contributors to this achievement were recognized for their invaluable efforts in elevating the agency's standards.

The recognition program also included a tribute to employees who went above and beyond in their roles, fostering a sense of pride and camaraderie among attendees.

Adding a touch of fun and nostalgia, participants donned vibrant 1980s-inspired outfits, reflecting PCA's colorful spirit. The evening transitioned into a more festive mood with activities that are dedicated for employees’ enjoyment, bringing laughter and camaraderie.

As PCA closes this year on a high note, the event served as a reminder of the collective strength, dedication, and shared purpose that define the Authority. With initiatives aligned to five strategic development goals--productivity enhancement, farmer empowerment, trade and market development, research and innovation, and sustainable organizational systems--the PCA aims to empower coconut farmers, elevate the industry, and contribute to national development.

“Together, as one PCA family, we can achieve great things. Let us carry the lessons and successes of 2024 as we boldly step into 2025, united in our mission to create a better future for our farmers and stakeholders,” Dr. Buted concluded.

With this celebration, PCA closes 2024 with gratitude and pride, ready to embrace the opportunities of the coming year.
