Aside from promoting health and wellness through engagement in physical activities while witnessing the picturesque landscape of Caliraya Lake, the event complements the agency’s campaign on coconut water consumption and it served as a platform to promote coco water as a healthy energy drink for athletes.
Caliraya 360 – PCAEA Fun Run which featured 4-km and 8-km events, was participated by employees of PCA Region IV-A with their families and friends. Other runners were from the Philippine National Police, Lumban Elementary School, Lumban National High School, Provincial Agriculture Office of Laguna and Municipal Agriculture Office of Rizal as well as other coconut industry stakeholders.
The event culminated with the ceremonial drinking of fresh buko juice. It can be recalled that the first PCAEA fun run was held in May 2018 and was aimed at promoting the various high-value coconut food products such as coco sugar, virgin coconut oil and coconut water energy drink.
The group hopes to continue organizing the running event annually to raise awareness on different causes in support to the coconut industry.
