Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) Region VIII conducted an Agro-Technology Training for coconut farmers in Sulat, Eastern Samar on November 14, 2019.

The Philippine Coconut Authority Province of Southern Leyte conducts series of Information Campaign on the Revised Implementing Rules and Regulations of the “Coconut Preservation Act of 1995.” The office spearheaded fifteen sessions of information campaign to 750 stakeholders including coco-lumber dealers, local government officials, and chainsaw operators.

The 48th Gawad Saka Outstanding Coconut Farmer awardee is Mr. Narciso A. Moresca, a 52-year-old from Brgy. San Jose, Barobo, Surigao del Sur, Region XIII-CARAGA.

Mr. Moresca has been farming for 35 years, and so far, has planted a total of 389 coconut trees throughout his lifetime. He has gained considerable knowledge and skills in coconut farming through his involvement in the coconut industry as a farmer, leader, and as an entrepreneur.
